Anil K. Agarwal, MD, FACP, FASN, FNKF, FASDIN is Professor of Clinical Medicine at The University of California San Francisco and Chief of Medicine at Veterans Affairs Central California Health Care System at Fresno, California. Dr. Agarwal is a passionate clinician and educator and is an expert in clinical nephrology. He has extensive experience in clinical research in the field of clinical nephrology including hypertension, dialysis, anemia, mineral bone disorders and vascular access. He has conducted over 40 clinical trials in the last 2 decades and has collaborated with sponsors in developing protocols and publishing results of those studies. He is a frequently sought after speaker nationally and internationally. Dr. Agarwal is an expert in Interventional Nephrology and is the President of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology. He has served as an ambassador to many countries for the International Society of Nephrology. He has authored and edited the first textbook of Interventional Nephrology as well as the first and second editions of NephSAP on Interventional Nephrology published by the American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Agarwal serves on editorial boards and is a reviewer for several prominent medical journals. He was Chair of the Medical Advisory Board of NKF of Ohio and Island Peer Review Organization (Renal Network of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana) and serves as Chair and member of several advisory committees and boards. He was involved in faculty development as the Chair of Clinical Scholarship for FAME at Wexner Medical Center until 2020.
